Robo Review

Superstar Rajnikanth and the Supreme director Shanker has shown us the taste of success with Sivaji…and Now they are back with a bang…Robo, the movie is much talked about for its whopping budget and for depicting next-gen robot as the lead and not the least for having our Gorgeous Ex Miss World Aishwarya Rai!!
Let’s check out the how Robo went on!!
Plot: Vasikaran (Rajni) creates an Extra ordinary Robo (named as Chitti) with speed of 1Thz and memory of 1 Zetta bytes. All goes fine, until Robo turns into humanoid…and loves deeply Sana…the scientists beautiful girlfriend…
Things go out of control when an evil scientist manipulates the Robo…resulting in havoc and tons of troubles…
Rajni is everything:
Rajni the giant icon of South Indian cinema is the one who made the vision of his director come true. He donned 3 roles if you consider different shades of Robo as 2 individual roles. Director like the scientist is more partial to his creation Robo. While the role of scientist is made very ordinary, two different get ups of Robo are designed extremely well. Rajni grows on us as chitti in the first half. You will simply love his innocence and giggle for his funny deeds. And in contrast Rajni excelled as wicked Robo where he rebels against his own master for his love. Rajni is exceptionally great in this role…and proved himself a great villain as good as the hero.
Aishwarya Rai …a true synonym of beauty…is simply superb in all the costumes. She had a crucial role to play...And she has done it with élan. Her chemistry with Robo out beats her love with the scientist. She is the best choice for the movie and Shanker portrayed her more beautiful in songs
Mesmerizing Visuals…!!
Sky is limit for the Robo…If Superstar as human could go beyond our imagination while beating up the goons…Don’t ever think of what a Rajni can perform as Robot.
He beats up goons chasing a running train...rescues people in fire and much more just in the first half. And in second half he multiplies himself in hundreds and forms gigantic forms…
The climax I can say is spellbound with Robo taking form of Transformer and Anaconda just to name few…It’s no doubt visually best ever climax . Here’s a salute to the technicians (VFX, Sound design, cinematography…) for making it believable within the budget constraints they had. Remember Hollywood flicks are made with 100 times better budgets!!
Shanker the great And Rahman scores good
Call him Indian James Cameroon …no offense for bringing up the next-gen story and made it a visual treat…especially the climax.
Songs are good…and are picturised elegantly. Back ground score is good enough.Locations are the assets for the songs.”Neutron electron” and "Kilimanjaro…" and Visual grandeur is seen in “Harima...Harima “and “Inumulo...”
Movie flows very smoothly in first half and you will love it for sure. Shanker did not waste much of screen time as in Sivaji and he has built up the love between the Robo and Aish in believable way. But he took so many cinematic liberties in second half. There were couple of dull moments…and unnecessary scenes…But Climax makes up for it…you feel satisfied…
Few things that would have been better…
Movies tempo falls flat in the later half for a while and everything seems louder from then…especially the car chase, mosquito episode…and pre Kilimanjaro song is dull…
While elevating the Robo, the other character of Rajni is diminished lot…He should have been least heroic!!
Though songs were nice…I still feel something missing that lacks the connection with audience…
Final Say
At the end of the day…Robo took its cinematic liberties and ended up well in good manner...
Best parts are first half and Climax. Kids will love it for sure…and the climax is the one that is the best in Indian screen so far…
Can anyone afford to miss RajniKanth, Aishwarya Rai and Shanker together.
Lessen your expectations and watch it as a good effort…I don’t say it is way good than Bharateeyudu…but it is on par with Sivaji
Rating
3.5/5 Yes this rating I feel is far less for the visual effects…and but is good enough to keep lower the expectations…Do watch it…

Power Star turns Busy Star

When we say he turns to a busy star, doesn’t quite mean his dynamic title has changed! The Power Star’s diary is filled with shooting dates! Reports have it that Pawan Kalyan will act in 4 movies in the next 2 years!
Isn’t that great news for you Power Star fans? Out of those 4 proposed movies, two are already on floors, i.e. Jayant’s ‘Khushiga’ and his important role in Singeetham Srinivas Rao’s movie on Jesus Christ. The other movies are going to be high budget movies and Pawan Kalyan will act in production houses like Arka Media and in BVSN Prasad’s banner that produced movies like ‘Chatrapathi, ‘Darling’, etc and another movie with another producer Danayya, who made 'Nenu Inthe', 'Oy', etc.
The hero will complete all these movies in the next two years. He has been idle for quite sometime before the release of ‘Puli’ thanks to his political ambitions. Seems like he’s back to doing what he does best – acting! So Pawan Kalyan fans, gear it up, Power Star’s coming with full energy!

Devi Sri Prasad bags international project

The Telugu film industry is filled with talented music directors, who have been creating some of the most awe-inspiring tracks in Tollywood films. Now, it seems the International film fraternity has become aware of the talent pool available in Andhra. Recent reports suggest that the maverick Music director Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in for an international project. Devi Sri Prasad has been signed on to create the music for a multi-lingual film on the life of Jesus Christ.

Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is going to direct the new movie in four languages (English, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Hindi). Devi Sri will be scoring the music for all the four versions of the movie. It goes without saying that this is perhaps one of the biggest breaks in DSP’s career and he is gearing up for the movie.

Konda Krishnam Raju is producing the film. Mega star Pawan Kalyan is going to play very important role in the upcoming flick.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Kurralloi Kurrallu

She stole the heart of millions with her very first film ‘Ye Maya Chesave.’ She is now the sensational actress in the Telugu Cinema. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has taken very short time to achieve this.

In view of her craze in Tollywood, producer Srinvias Damora is presenting the Tamil Film ‘Baana Kaathadi’in Telugu. She played one of the heroines in the film. Telugu version is titled as ‘kurralloi kurrallu.’

The film is directed by Badri Venkatesh and produced by Senthil Thyagarajan and T. Arjun. Adharvaa, son of Tamil actor Murali, makes his debut in the film as a lead actor. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Karunas played heroines. It features music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Richard Maria Nathan, editing by Suresh Urs and story written by Badri Venkatesh, Lakshmikanth and Radhakrishnan. The film is a youthful entertainer. Major portion of the film was shot at the International Kites Festival of Gujarat.

Khaleja Sneak preview

Mahesh babu’s next big project Khaleja is all set to release during the month of October. Sources inside the film world suggest that the new film is going to set records at the box office. Mahesh babu has not given a lot of hit movies in the recent past and this might be his big shot at superstardom. The Mahesh Babu fans are very sure that this new movie will solidify his position in the Telugu film industry. As far as we know, Khaleja is an action packed movie that has a lot of money riding on it.
The music for Mahesh babu’s Khaleja was launched on September 27 at Begumpet Radio Mirchi Office located in Hyderabad. Mahesh Babu attended the music launch with his wife namratha and son Gowtham, director Trivikram and producer C Kalyan attended the event along with actress Anushka.
In Khaleja, Mahesh babu plays the role of a straight forward taxi driver, who does not interfere in other people’s business. Circumstances force him to go to Rajasthan, where he is attacked by a couple of goons. A group of villagers save his life and nurse him back to good health. Mahesh Babu vows to protect the villagers from the goons. The movie has some of the best fight sequences in modern cinema and the audience will surely love watching the film.

Bapu will direct Balakrishna

The veteran director Bapu is well known in the Telugu film industry for his unique approach to film making. A source in the film industry recently revealed that currently Bapu is working on a film based on Ramayana. This is not the run-of-the-mill mythological story about the fight between Lord Rama and Ravana. The story will be based on Lava and Kusa, the two sons of Lord Ram.
Reports also suggested that Bapu has roped in Balakrishna to play the lead role in the upcoming flick. Mythological films are nothing new for Bapu and he has become an expert in making some of the best Mythology themed movies in Tollywood. Quite interestingly, years ago a movie about “Lava and Kusa’ was made years ago and that film had NT ramarao in the lead role.
The re-iteration of the old flick will have Balakrishna in the lead role and we hope that the actor lives up to the high benchmark set by NT Ramarao. The movie has been aptly names Sri Ramayana and it will be launched by September 30 this year. The musical maestro IIayaraj is going to score for the upcoming mythological extravaganza. Certain sources have suggested that two songs for the film have been recorded as well. we are not sure about who will portray the coveted role of Sita in the upcoming flick. We are pretty sure that Nayantara is a good candidate for the role because she has the earthy good looks that Sita was famous for.

Rajamouli talks about his movies

SS Rajamouli is perhaps one of the most talented directors of the Telugu film industry and he has created some of the finest films in the past. All of his past films have brought something new to the table and intrigued the audience. The maverick director has created blockbuster movies like “Simhadri’, “Chatrapti’, “Yamadonga’, “Magadheera’, etc. Despite creating such huge hits the director humbly maintains that he is yet to achieve anything in his life.
Rajamouli has a creative fervor in him that makes his films so unique. “Sye’ drew the attention of the audience to a not-so-popular-sport in India. Most Indians are not aware of the game and the film increased awareness about the lost sport. During a recent interview Rajamouli claimed that he is not a big shot director because he has not achieved much yet. Rajamouli also informed us that he will consider himself a hotshot only if he directs a big movie like “Mahabharata’ within the next ten years.
Rajamouli is one of those directors who does not like to take a break from his work and constantly tries to create something new for the audience. It seems that the director has huge plans for his films in the next ten years, so we wish all the best to him.

Brindaavanam’s release postponed

October is going to be a huge month for the Telugu film industry. Some of the most anticipated movies of Tollywood are going to release this October. On October 1 the audience will be able to feast their eyes on Rajnikanth’s “Robot’ and within a matter of 7 days we will be able to feast our eyes on two mega movies “Khaleja’ and “Brindaavanam’. However now it seems that Jr. NTR’s movie Brindaavanam has run into a bit of storm. Sources reveal that the release date of Brindaavanam might be postponed by 7 days due to unavoidable circumstances.
Previously it was fixed that Brindaavanam will be released on October 8, 2010, right after the release of Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja. Dil Raju, the producer of Brindaavanam recently decided to postpone the release date of Brindaavanam because he wanted both Khaleja and Brindaavanam to make good collections at the box office.
On the other hand, Producers of Khaleja have maintained that the movie will release on October 7 as per the previous schedule. Thanks to the new decision it seems that the Telugu film lover will get to watch three superhit films on the first three weeks of October. We Hope Brindaavanam becomes a huge success with the audience and consolidates Jr. NTR’s position in the film world.
